My art project

I have been so dang busy during the last month or so. Last week was the worst!!! I swear that all my teachers are working the school to death because the last week of the semester starts tomorrow. At least I'm safe to continue working on my art project!

We're making collages (the kind made up of pictures on a poster, not the school kind) and I'm doing mine on...

DOGS!!!

I'm absolutely crazy about dogs! So anyways, for the project we're supposed to put texture on it. So I put tin foil all over my paper, then painted it 3 different colors with oil paints: red, green, and blue!!! I painted the whole thing last Monday. It's still drying as we speak. But I'm sure that by tomorrow the paint should be dry when I get up for school.

Anyways, I'm putting pictures of my old boxer, Tasha, my current dog, Boomer, and my cousin's dog, Ellie. As well as pictures, I'm also going to glue on dog food! Let's hope this will go well. Cross your fingers!

P.S. I'll try and keep up, I really will!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

I woke up this morning to see it snowing... hard! I didn't know how much snow there would be on the ground until I went outside this morning. My dad had to use the skidsteer to do the driveway! Our neighbor came over to help sovel snow, but me, Braden, and he got carried away in taking pictures of our dog, Boomer. He had snow all over his face, jumping around and having so much fun! I love the way he digs his face into the snow, and comes out looking like Santa Dog!

I hope that it snows enough to let us have a snow day at school. Last year it happened, and I really hope it does this year, too! I love the snow until I get cold. By then I've had enough until the next day. That's when my love for snow is basically renewed. But one of my favorite parts about the snow is when I get a nice, steamy cup of hot chocolate afterwards! Maybe some toast, too.

I really don't want to go to school tomorrow, so I'll spend my day trying not to think about it, and mess around in the snow before/after church. Hopefully it will take my mind off things, and I won't be reminded of the ridiculous music video that our teachers showed to the whole school. It involved my doing the penguin dance down the hall.

Now that I think about it, a penguin would be perfect for this weather! At least I won't have to see the video myself because I later learned that I looked like a complete dork and idiot. That kind on figures, because I live close to my cousin, so we go to the same school. We rub off on each other, creating not one, not two or three, but four really funnny, dorkish people. Scratch that out. There's eight of us really weird, funny, dorkish people. Probably more if I counted.

Long story short, I LOVE THE SNOW!!!

Christmas Shopping

Do you know how painful Christmas shopping can be? It can get pretty bad when you're spending all your money, and what's worse, worrying that you might not get it right. But the most annoying thing for me because I don't have a credit card or Debit card is not knowing what my family and friends want for Christmas! My brother stumps me the most.
Braden's what my parents call a "closed book." You never ever know what he's thinking, and it's super hard to find out! It makes him one of the most secretive people on Earth!!! I've only ever gotten 1 secret out of him. That's it, and then the secxret expired, and now I've got nothing.
I, on the other hand, am a totally "open book!" I voice every thought that comes into my head, usually without thinking. But that's when I'm not in school. In school I'm just as secretive as Braden. Like the other day, one of my instructors asked if she could read part of my report, and my mind started to panic. So I politely shook my head, and lowered it to work on other assignments. Later at SEOP, she said my ears were red! But now I'm really getting off the subject.
My point is, it's super easy to go Christmas shopping for some people, like me, and super difficult to shop for others, like my brother. Any tips on how to get people to tell you what they want for Christmas?

Surgery

One of my best friends went into surgery yesterday to get plates taken out of her legs. I was so nervous for her at first! But as the day wore on and I had more to do in school, I quickly turned my mind to other subjects. When I got a call from her last night, I ws so glad to hear from her!
She told me that while she was getting her plates out, another girl she had talked to was getting plates in. She also told me about all the little kids who were there for surgery, and it about broke my heart to hear that there were even babies going in for surgery! At least they're young and won't have to do it when they get older, some of them.
She told me that she was conscious for the beginning, but she could only hear voices and nothing else. She couldn't even open her eyes! I was so glad to hear from her, and we talked for about an hour or so to get caught up. I'm probably going over later to check on her and deliver her Christmas present. I can't wait to see her again! She said that the doctors let her keep the metal plates, and maybe she'll show them to me. But most of all, I'm just happy that she'll be back at school on Monday!

12-7-09; Ups and Downs

Everyone has their ups and downs. Mine are sometimes super weird.
Today in my first period, my friend was really hyper and she scared me. She usually isn't that hyper. She must've had some sugar for breakfast or something. I don't know if that's an up or a down. It was more funny than scary. So it's probably an up bacause she made me laugh.
Right?
Second period. I really didn't have an up or down in that class other than I recieved homework.
In my third period we are supposed to write a narrative. My up is that I got some really good ideas instantly. I just might share a preview of it. Then again, maybe not. Who knows? It depends on the score I get. That was my homework fro today.
In my fourth period, I had another up. I was able to get all my work finished before the bell.
Unfortunately, my fifth period didn't go so smoothly. My friend and I sit at a table near the back of the room, and there's a door across from us that was open last Friday. We got a double lesson that day. We almost got the same live entertainment. . . Then the teacher closed the door. So that was a down.
Lunch was pretty good. Until my cousin's wire broke. She was unable to talk for the rest of the day. That was a very sad down.
Period six turned out to be an up. I got my piece exactly correct. It took me forever to get it right, but I did it!!! But I may have to work a little more on it, so that's some more homework.
Period seven turned out to be the worst down of the day. We had to watch the most boring video EVER! It repeated the same exact thing about three times before our teacher finally turned it off! I also got homework in that class.
Finally my older brother and I finished the trek home. That was our first up. Then our mom called us to shovel snow off the driveway and sidewalk because it's been snowing all day. Another down.
My last down was homework. I really hate homework. Seriously, who doesn't?
Well, that's it for today. All I have to say now is that I really hope that it snows all night tonight, and all day tomorrow!

12-6-09; Working on Today

Today I woke up like I do every morning. The thin layer of snow on the back lawn both excited me and made me groan. I can finally wear my long-sleeved shirts because it's finally cold enough! But because it is now cold enough and my church shoes are open-toed, my feet are going to freeze every Sunday! But that's not the only mishap. Before church, I ridiculously forgot my breakfast. So I went to church hungry and I didn't even realize it!
Like every day, today had its perks. During the meeting my hair came undone and I had to leave to fix it up. Finally when I went to class, it was going all right. That is, until my stomache started growling at me. It growled clear through the lesson. Trust me, when someone's stomache growls that loud, you know someone's gonna hear it. They all did. AT least it was people I knew, and not complete strangers, because that thing was loud!!!
Later, when we all got home, my stomach decided to quiet down for dinner! And man, was it a good dinner! Now I'm sitting right here, working on today.
Gotta go!
